Did you clean the area after doing the cork gasket? If its oil on the exhaust manifold it could also be the sump gasket.

I cleaned the area the best I could, but definitely not perfect. Like I said, I'm doing the water pump in a couple weeks so most everything will be replaced in terms of gaskets and seals.

Where is the sump gasket located?

at the bottom of the engine between the oil pan (sump) and the block,

Yea let's hope thats not the one. I got 2 separate PPI's when I bought the car a few weeks ago, and nothing was said about the oil pan gasket.

Actually, since yesterday I haven't had any smoke at start up at all!
