Question 996 Bi-Turbo brake calipers on a 951?

Someone offered me a set of brand new front brake calipers from a 996 bi-turbo (including new brake pads).

1. Is there any change of getting them to fit on a '87 951?
2. What would be a reasonable price to pay?

Thanks a lot,

Frank

I suppose those brakes are just the same as GT2 front ones. Pete & I have those brakes. They can be mounted under 951 with suitable adapters.
PM me if you want some furter information.

Here's GT2 front calipers under Pete's '87 951:

Olli,
What rotors are you running with those yellow calipers?

No, the 996 turbo has the GT3 Mk1 4-piston brakes.

Same adapter work also with 4 piston calipers. You can use 996 turbo disks or GT3 cup disk

Probably .10 on both of those.

Just to clarify, does it also depend on the offset and design of your wheel as to whether the calipers fit inside the space?

Also worth noting that the 996 Turbo calipers cannot be mounted to the 944 Turbo S spindles. Since the Turbo S spindle uses a radial mount pattern for the brake caliper, and since the bolt spacing difference between that spindle mount and the 996 Turbo caliper is so small, no adapter can be made to mount these. Therefore, if you are interested in running 996 turbo or GT3 calipers, you have to start with a non-S Spindle. If using the 88S or 89 spindle, 993 Turbo brakes are about the only option, unless you want to spend huge money on the Brembo GTR setup.

Actually GT2/Turbo calipers can be mounted also to 951 S. It will reguire a very special adapter. My friend Pete have drew such a adapter, but since he and i have non S car, we didn't have any use for that kind of adapter. It will be much more expensive to fabricate tough.

Anyone have pics or know the center-to-center radial bolt-spacing dimension on these 996T calipers? Another member asked me to mount these on 951 spindles using the Cayenne 330 rotor. Gracias

edit...have these on hand and they are a go for the 951 spindles
