Here's my experience:
I do like the arrows of the V1.
But, other than that, it's no better or worse than any of the other top detectors.
Actually, unless something has changed recently, V1 still hasn't figured out how to be immuned to the latest radar detector detectors. The newest Bell STI, however, has. That's what I'm sporting now, because of the high threat of getting your radar detector seized by the cops, in my area.
Also, like others have said, a laser jammer is a must. I've got the Blinder M20 built in using one one switches in the console. I would have lost my license by now, without it!

Guys, my jammer is on the Mini, not the 951 as I do most of my driving in it. And the Mini is wrapped up out in the shed, I can't get to it to do pics easily. Let me clarify something.. I have a K40, a couple of year old unit. I like it a lot but there is much newer and better stuff available. The install of the K40 is a thick license plate frame up front, and one tiny LED in a small mount, about the size of a dime somewhere inside. The light chirps and blinks when the unit responds to a gun. That is all she does. If I were buying today, I'd probably get the Blinder M-20, and there are some pics (not installed) here: http://1-radar-laser-jammers-detecto...mers/index.php
The projectors are about the size of a cig pack and hide in the grill. The interior bits are all but invisible, they are just small LEDs you can hide anywhere. The front of the 951 is not exactly ideal for install locations. I'd consult the sellers for their suggestions of the spot to mount up front, positioning can be critical to performance. If I were going to put one in the 951, I'd have to consider going in the slot for intercooler air. While you certainly don't want to impede the airflow, flow past a speed trap may be just as important!!
