Heya Dan, You may be mistaken there. in MY 89, for some very strange reason, the factory downsized the rear sway. I took off mine and it was tiny! The same size or smaller than an 86 Turbo (Chip was was going to bolt my take offs on his 86 race car and noticed mine was actually tiny!) You might want to check your specs there. Would going to a smaller one increase understeer, or what? What was the factory trying to balance? I'd like to believe the change was not financially motivated.

I've gotten some offers but nothing sold yet. Thought prices are pretty good where they are at..
Thanks

Factory changed from 18mm to 16mm somewhere around US VIN# 350 during the MY89 production run (cars made around AUG '88 and later will have a 16mm rear bar). My guess is they were concerned about reducing the risk of power-on oversteer for inexperienced street drivers.

So depending on the date of production/VIN, this car could have had either the 18mm or the 16mm. Or it could have been swapped/changed at some point. Need to measure them to be sure.

foglights are spoken for and shocks are in working condition best to be rebuilt but can use as is. I was using them fine until I upgraded.

Did Dan say something about an '86 race car? Ok Brian, spill the beans.

Edit: sorry I reread and realized he said Chip.

All things equal, the smaller rear sway would obviously reduce the neutrality of the car, giving it more steady-state understeer. What were the T-bars on the S, though? I can't remember. If they increased the spring-rate with a rearward bias, I could see why they'd increase the front bar, and decrease the rear.

The rims should work without issues if you have spacers on them.

fwiw, i've got the same rims and i don't like them . why the PO decided to swap the stock light forged clubsports for these wrong-offset, cast boat-anchors, i'll never know.
