8" fuchs front & back. Has it been done ?

Yep, 8's work great on early offset cars....pic shows 15x8 Fuchs all around on my 85.5 w/Hoosiers. I'm running 16 7/8 combo now with replica's on the back and I don't like it as much as this sweet set up here. Front track is 13 mm wider on each side than OE as the 8s are 10.6 offset as opposed to 23.3.

You thinking 16"s? Reason I ask is just to alert you that a 16x8 23.3 (rear spec for an 86 951) offset doesn't give you the extra half inch track on each corner. Still a very cool wheel, but my own experience and that of some other racers is that the widened front track without any spacers to lengthen the steering arc around the spindle is a good thing.
My first effort at moving up to 16's and sharing Club Sports with my Turbo S were a total bust on my NA. With 1.5" and 2" spacers I managed to turn my racer into a total slug in terms of steering response. Plenty of grip but deadly lazy turn-in. Went back to OE offset 16's and things got better, although not as quick as with my 15's. Screwed up my whole season, but they sure did look cool
