I'm working on an 86 951 for a friend of mine. It's a pristine car with 54K miles and looks like a brand new car inside and out. Unfortunately, the third gear synchro ring has decided to go south (as in the bottom of the fluid) and needs some attention. Although I consider myself a competent mechanic, tranny rebuilding is somewhat of a science that requires lots of practice. Can anybody recommend a good rebuider in the Maryland/Pennsylvania area. I've been told SSI Perfomance in Townson does good work. The car has the LSD and oil cooler and is worth putting some $$ into.
