sealing b/s housing
#3
There is a seal that goes on the end.
There is no gasket, it is sealed to the block with loctite 571 (i believe).
The passenger side rear seal was leaking, and thanks to the x-member, you canot access one (or more) bolts due to space. Cleaning the rear end of the shaft very well and used some sealing RTV compound (high temp) acting like an external plug and stopped the leak.
To replace the rear seal, the timing and balance shaft belts need to come off, the rear timing cover needs to be removed to expose the three bolts that hold the housing to the block (it's not just the bolts you see on the side).
