Interest in a “plug and play” EGT probe kit?

Laust! Put me down on the list for your next run of these. This is such a great idea and I just discovered the cap on my test tube was cracked and shooting exhaust junk allover the firewall. I guess that would explain the smell in the cabin under boost.

With these things, is the voltage output of the sensor something that can be hooked up to an egt gauge or will the output only work for a datalogger setup?

Not just play, but also plug
I finally managed to set some time aside to make parts for more EGT kits. I decided to keep the price unchanged (see post #1) in spite of parts cost increase. The installation instructions are still in post #65.
I am not quite finished yet, but am very sure everything is ready in 2 weeks (6-21-08).
There have been a few requests for a plug on the fitting in the X-over pipe for those who want to remove the test pipe or EGT probe. A number of people have successfully used a closed aluminum wheel lug nut, but aluminum having a melting point of 1220 F and non-sealing threads (straight, not conical) that practice is a bit questionable.
As a result I have come up with a solution, namely to use a solid double coned plug (“mini bowling pin”) together with my custom nut also used for the EGT kit (se the attached picture).
Whenever the EGT probe is installed the ferrule will be crimped on the probe and has to be ground off if you want to re-use the nut from the EGT kit as part of the plug. Therefore I am also selling the nut, ferrule and plug separately and the prices are $15 for the nut (a pain to make), $4 for the ferrule and also $4 for the plug with an S&H for any combination of the 3 components being $4 (domestic), $6 Canada and $8 ROW (no S&H addition if they are included in the EGT kit).
If you are interested in any of the above, just send me a PM in a week or so for payment details.

Thanks for the interest.
"theedge", it is a fairly fast reacting probe, but as you can imagine the path through the headers (being heat capacitors) will slow down the registration of a rapid temperature change right out of the port.

I have one and find it to be a useful overall indicator of EGT. Its not the same thing as having four (one in each header tube) but for the relative cost and ease of installation, its money WELL spent, imo. Laust should get a lot of credit for offering these, he's great to deal with and its a well done kit.

New batch
Well, a few Rennlisters have expressed interest in my EGT kits, so I finally managed to set some time (and money) aside to create another small batch.
Inflation has not yet reached my garage, so the price is unchanged, namely:
EGT Kit is $98 + S&H ($8 domestically, $12 Canada and $ 16 internationally)
Nut + ferrule or plug is $15 + $4 (+ S&H $4 domestically, $6 Canada and $8 internationally, if shipped separately from the kit)
If interested, just send me a PM to start the process.
