Shift Linkage Improvement...Major Improvement
#17
Hey Dan,
Welcome to the forum!
Your shift block looks like a great part, but do you know if anyone's had transmission issues because of the billet transmitting more vibration than the rubber bushing would?
Thanks!
Jeff

First let me say that our shift block will fit the following: 924, 924s, 944, 951, 944s, 944s2, and 968. Will not work on 924's with the 016-Y or Z, 5speed trans.
Second the kit never sold on ebay for around $150. We retail this for $78.95 and includes detailed instructions, shift block, spring clip, and lock nut. Does not included the linkage.
Third, the block should technically never wear out, but if it does, that should take longer than the life of several cars. Its billet aluminum, so should last for a very, very long time.
If anyone has any other questions, please feel free to email at StuttgartMotors@alltel.net You may also call at 859-255-7424 or 859-255-7278. We also now have our website up and running which can be visited at www.stuttgartmotorsports.com
Also, we have designed the first PCA approved hubs from billet aluminum.

I don't know of anyone that has had issues with anything after installing our shift block. Only great things have been said and everyone loves it to be honest.
On the hubs, yes we were the 1st to be PCA approved.

No, you can't use both kits, together. The Schnell kit uses a spherical bearing in place of your piece. Your piece relies on the aluminum to serve as the bearing surface between the two joints, rather than a true bearing.
Yours is a clean and simple design, but I'm leaning towards the Schnell kit for the bearing.
Regardless, thanks for bringing new parts to an old car.

no, Jon told you no.
look at the pcs carefully
flip the longer lever up like in the upper pic, the round part hangning down, roll it up 90° CCW and you see what you have is the same as the top pic but with a spherical bearing in place of the aluminum block.
If you want it crisp, new bottom bushing, short shift kit, and maybe a LR short shift lever - this is our track car setup and it's very precise.

Eureka! I understand now. Thanks Bret! Looks like I'll stick with the short shifter for my 951 but since I don't know of a short shifter for the 968 I probably will get one of these for it. I hate the rubbery feel of the 968 shifter at the moment. Thanks.
