I put a rebuilt alternator from Paragon on and it is charging, but I think it might be a good idea to get a new battery, since I've drained it a few too many times, I've had the car for 3 years with the same battery and who knows hold old it is. At idle, with lights, radio, interior blower on, it is charging at about 13.5V. Is this ok? The old alternator was helaciously hard to spin over, I assume the wires and bearings were trash.

If its hard to spin then its gone. An alternator should spin freely by hand.

bogus info.

several shops + the po who is a shop mech at the hi $$$ shop here said "no problem" charging with cables connected and i've been doing it for 3 years as needed.
