That must be why they called it a flamer kit.

Zing! I know, I'm too good.

As for the old cars doing flamethrowers out the back, it actually isn't that hard. In the old days you could do it by driving a carb'd car down the highway or whatever and while moving turn the car off. The spark would stop, but because the motor was still turning over from being in gear it would still pull fuel into the engine and would be put into the exhaust unburned since there was no spark. Then you'd just start the motor back up and all the unburnt fuel in the exhaust would light.

For the actual kits it is basically the same idea - you cut the power to the spark plugs and crank the engine over with the starter or however, then the mixed unburnt fuel goes through the exhaust and some spark plugs in the exhaust tips light it all off.

Does anyone else here watch Initial-D? That video reminds me a lot of the episodes with the one evo (from when takumi blows his engine) that has the rally backfire system that keeps the turbo lag down (or something like that), however that is supposed to work...

The real trick is to inject other chemicals into the exhaust and get blue, green, and purple flames like the fast and the furious guys! Yeah!

Don't forget the obligatory shooting of the nitrous out from under the hood.
