I'm sure it will be great too!
I went with the stage 2 since its mostly a street car, tons of low down power and very fast spool, big broad power Chris White has a 2.75 liter with the stage 2 and loves it, so I decided to go with it too since it seems to be everything I want. Im not that interested in drag racing fat middle aged balding blokes in their new mid life crisis Corvette or anything anyway

Deciding on Vitesse wasnt that hard There are other excellent options out there, but since im looking less for peak power and more for everything else, Vitesse made sense rather than a GT30XX or something. For the record, I just bought the turbo, no MAF or anything. Im sticking with my MegaSquirt

And for anyone that has noticed the slight damage on the inlet, that was from shipping and not from John. He and I have already talked, and it shouldnt cause any problems.

I don't mean to hi-jack and I wont, because I respect Brian and it's his thread. But I'll say this. I dont know what your application is for your car, but, I've tried 3 different turbos, Vitesse being one of them on the same car. And I will say when it comes to turbos, without a doubt, Vitesse's is the best bar none. Not even an option. Also, his custom chips are the bomb too. I was a Vitesse customer and had a Stage 5 Turbo on my old car, and will be getting another custom one soon too. PM me if you want to discuss more.

Brian: Tell us more about the car dude? You have a list of mods you can share, or is it all top secret, eh?

No worries about hijacks lol

Since im waiting for my soldering iron to heat up...

Currently on car/already purchased

Modded cylinder head (milled 50 thou for increased CR, oringed, LR race springs and titanium retainers, slight porting on intakes, valve work)
LR adjustable cam gear
KEP Stage 2 pressure plate
LR lightweight flywheel
Blazack Precision stregthened clutch fork
Cup disk
LR Supermount engine mounts
AC delete
PS delete
Bosch "High Volume" pump from LR
SS braided fuel lines
55 pound injectors (from your previous car actually, the Imfamous 55s )

IJ Crankscraper
LR oil pan baffles
RX7 Turbo oil cooler with -12 hoses

Home made stiffened transaxle mount
Schnell short shift

Tial 38mm
Headers/xover/etc are all crappily ceramic coated
Test pipe wrapped

Suspension/Steering:
Welt Stage 2 swaybars
Elephant Racing control arm monoballs
968 caster blocks
PS rack converted to manual with fluid crossover hose (I want the quicker ratio and dont mind the extra bit of stiffness, girls have driven my car with the PS belt off and they werent overly bothered even learning to drive manual in a parking lot )
Delrin PS rack mount
Rennbay Track Balljoint kit

Brakes:
Pagid Blue pads
SS braided lines
ATE Superblue fluid
33/5 bias valve

Misc/Body/Interior:
Cibie E Codes with my own relay setup
Euro fogs/driving lights
Iceshark ground/power cables
Sport seats (didnt come stock on my car so I count them in the list lol)
Alpine 9815 stereo
AC core removed

Engine Managment/Eletrical:
New engine wiring harness
MegaSquirt doing wasted spark, boost control, table switching, the works
Additional wiring for the larger fuel pump

Next Stage:
2.7 liter from Chris White
Calico coated pistons
IJ windage tray
Worked crank (knifedged, drilled, balanced, etc)
Possibly some other stuff in there
Vitesse Stage 2 turbo
3" downpipe, 3+" exhaust
Better coated headers and such (sticking with stock headers/crossover for now)
Bigger injectors, Delphi Motorsport ones that are happy with Ethanol, probably 85s or something
New fuel rail
Better SS braided fuel lines
Redline rollbar (on its way now actually)
Dynatech Strut Bar
Dynatech camber plates
Bilstein Escort Cup suspension
Kodiak Racing Wheels with WIDE *** tires all around
Guards LSD
Water injection
Custom SS braided clutch hose, so its easier to install and bleed I hope
Maybe an RS style interior with Alcantara dashboard and such, and no sound deadening and crap like that
More suspension goodies from Elephant Racing
Torsion bar delete when I do the bushings and coilovers
A bunch more I think...

Thats all I can think of now. Theres a ton of small things in there, like less retarded coolant bleeders and drains, NPG coolant, etc. Also throw in tons of maintenance parts since I got the car, new coolant everything, new TPS, Venturi delete, wheel bearings, clutch hose and cylinders, etc etc.

ST sold you those 55 lbs? What an ***!

You have a very nice extensive list pal, very nice.

So you went now with the IJ Crankscraperand they are going to get the tray too? Did Chris tell you all the advantages of having both? He did with me.
Good call on the stiffer LR springs too. Good job. On the fuel rail, ask even ST, the LR Billet one is a great piece. Am I not seeing something, or are you sticking with the stock IC for now?

Thanks

Stock IC for now yeah, but im looking into a bigger one. Im hoping for something that can be installed without body mods (ie cutting). I can sell them back to you if you want

I didnt know both were an option, but if both can be fitted then im gonna put both on. I bought one of the first crankscrapers, and had my engine in the car when the windage tray came out, so itll definatly be going in this time.

You are such a smartass! Talk to Chris about the tray & scrapper. We are doing both, if Im not mistaken. And the injectors? Brian, they were like brand new, so you know they are awesome. Regarding the IC. Not sure if you want to try and make your own, shop around, etc. I've had the LR Stage 5 (for me, ugly as sin, yuk), and then I had the LR Stage 2. Very nice, goes right in where the factory bolt in did. I'd say look into the SFR one (it is bigger and no mods needed too, but you can't probably with the RX cooler being where it is? And the 3 inch downpipe, especially with a 2.7L and a VR Stage 2 turbo? Absolute must to reduce that back pressure.

Well....not really both parts - the windage tray has a scraper built in - so it is a windage tray and a scraper. Both funcations are covered in one unit.

I am just curious why you would go with the VS2 turbo when you could run a larger turbo and make good use of the big bore. Just seems to me that it may be kind of a waste to spend all the money on the big bore if you are going to run 'just' a stage 2. I know the driveability would be great but the stage 2 on a 2.5 is great as well. Just wondering...

I know its easily capable of more, but I dont really need or want more. Estimates are that ill see 400RWHP anyway, which is quite fine by me. Im going big bore since my block is ruined, and thus I have to machine it anyway or dick around and find a 2.5 block with perfect bores. Besides, if it comes down to it, I can sell the stage 2 since it has a good resale and put in a bigger turbo Probably only take me a weekend

Wow what an amazing list of mods for what is mostly a street car! Roll cage too? Won't that be a bit of a hassle day in day out? I'm curious about some of your mods and not sure what the windage crankscraper is/does? I'm about to swap out all my Mo30/koni stuff for a custom made German KW system with what amounts to pretty stiff spring rate for the street. 708 f 616 r + RacersEdge A-arms and monoballs, Elephant Polybronze's too, so car should be a bit different as of next week! I bought a 33/5 diverter valve as well, how did you find the difference with yours? Any rear lock up? Converting to a manual rack also has it's attractions. Does that mean you have to forgo the a/c? It would be too hot here in Australia without. Next mods are 80% lsd and S2 crown wheel and pinion then the engine upgrades. That's why I initially asked you why you chose what you did? Of course all the vendors are spruiking the benefits of their packages and I'm sure there's a lot of truth behind their claims. I guess it's a little bit like buying a pc, you just have to pick a point to commit and jump in and be happy with the product.

Yeah, there was a fair bit of project scope creep.... It started as a clutch job and turbo swap to another K26/6.... Then pretty much just rolled on from there like a cartoon snowball turning into a housesized one I was actually calling it Porject Snowball for a while.

No, no rollcage. I do have a Redline Rollbar thats going in though. I dont mind a handful. I daily drove with the sway bars and the extra vibrations and noise never bothered me in the least.

Baiscally I found that there were a lot of upgrades that could be done for not a whole lot more than stock parts, ie the race springs and titanium retainers. Then throw in that I have this thing for "while im in there" things, and that I hate leaving niggly things undone like an old stock wiring harness. And that I love a challenge, so the MegaSquirt.

I havent been able to drive the car with the 33/5 yet, or most of those mods for that matter LOL. I did a bunch of reading, and read that you mostly have to be more careful in the wet, dry shouldnt be too much of a problem unless theres sand or something on the road.

No you can keep AC with the PS deletes. The PS has its own belt which makes it nice and easy to remove. I stayed with the power rack because I like/want the quicker ratio and love the stiffer steering. I was daily driving with just the belt removed to stop some leaks, never bothered me. I didnt do much parallel parking though.

Let me know how the Polybronze stuff is, I want to install those when I ditch the torsion bars!
