Default Car goes full rich at WOT

Just today while driving (slightly colder then normal) when I put my 951 to WOT it went off the charts rich (below 10.0:1) at about 3500 rpms. It never did this before today. It would run about 11.5:1 or so. Now it is really rich and I didn't do anything, lol. What sort of temp sensor could do this? I have a Vitesse MAF with sensor but that is fairly new. Temp sensor on the head possibly?

Do you have a boost leak before the intake?

I have had a small intake leak I have not been able to trace down but that was before. I still have the same vac at idle as I did before. Nothing has changed there.

The IAT sensor in the head would not cause this. A Vacuum leak, a damaged FPR, a bad engine temp sensor (of course check the TPS and the plugs). Something changed, you just need to know what.

There's been a few threads lately about richness, loss of boost, etc. You've read them. Now John just mentioned something that everyone with any of the aforementioned problems should check, that we all tend to forget. THE SPARK PLUGS! If you are seeing oil in your intercooler pipes, check your sparkplugs regularly. If you run high boost, check your sparkplugs regularly. If any odd thing happens for no apparent reason, check those damn sparkplugs! I had forgotten all about all the problems they caused me until John just mentioned it, but yeah, they will cause some messed up symptoms, running rich is one of them, loss of boost is another, knocking, missing, no start, etc. I only sold my car a year ago, I can't believe I forgot it already...

Regards,
Russell

That is what I meant, not the head.

Today I had some new problems. When I would be in gear at any given rpm and let off the throttle to decelerate....the car would push forward then let off without me touching the throttle plate. I could sit back and watch the wideband go to 13:1 then back to off the chart lean (which it should be off the chart lean with throttle plate closed on decel).

My idle hunts also, going rich then back to lean. I swapped the TPS out earlier this month so I think it is possibly the stock 02 sensor. I will try somethings out tonight. Thanks.

Is the TPS properly aligned? As in does it click when the throttle is let against its stops gently?

Could also be idle stablizer...

Yes, TPS is adjusted. I really think its the O2. It only seems to happen when the car warms up.
