Just an update.

During the pressure testing I found the throttle body was leaking quite a bit.
I've since rebuilt it. (easier than I though it would be).
The intake will now hold 20psi under testing.
The throttle response is much better than before.
I'm seeing 15psi at 2980rpm .
I'm going to test the exhaust next and see if there are any leaks there.

note: the 285/30/18's brake loose even easier now, in first and second.

Did you use Arnnworx's (sp?) throttle body rebuild kit? And how are you going to test the exhaust? I curious because this is just down the road for me .... Thanks!

can you elaborate on the pressure test?? I made a "plug" but I heard air rushing through the intake manifold but figured it was just going through the head.

HAHAHA - I didn't know you had all that stuff, man.
That is a car I wouldn't want to mess with from 30-90 - VERY tough to beat.
Yes, I know exactly how quik it is............

mtnman82, yes I used the Arnworxs kit. Well worth getting. Took me a total
of 1 hr tho rebuild it and have tha car running again.

For the pressure tester, I picked up a PVC cap , brass T fitting, gauge, valve,
and QD nipple to connect the compressor hose.
I like the gauge and valve because I can see how much pressure the intake is holding .
I'll take a pic and try to post it later.

M danger, if the air just keeps going in without building up then I would say
you have a good leak!

Special Tool , thanks, yes it's very quick, A Vitesse cam is next on the list
How do you maintain any traction at all with that monster of yours?
I've got to be carefull exiting corners now because it's just to easy to brake
the tires loose.
"R" compound for the street?

This is the tester I made.
I charge the compressor to 120psi and then shut it off.
I bleed the air into the intake with the valve. The gauge lets me see how much
pressure. I then shut the valve and see how well it holds pressure.
I worked my way through the intake until all the leaks were found and fixed.
The two bigs leaks were the ISV and the throttle body.

For the exhaust I plan on plugging the exhaust outlet removing the fuel pump
fuse and then crank the engine a few times to build pressure in the system.
Also I'll be looking for black smudges around the connections which is how I've found the bad leaks in the past.

I don't think you can have both an intake and exhaust open at the same time.
I didn't set the cam.
