I think you pay a premium for the borla because the sound can be incredable. As far as flow difference between that and the magnaflow that I run I doubt there is very much. Atleast not enough to garnish the price differencies I have run into.
As far as the flowmaster well the sound is raspy which most don't like and they flow like ***. They use baffles to create a sound which most hate. They are very cheep and in my opinion just setup to the magnaflow. If you got the funds go borla. They do sound great.

Have had the stock, the Flowmaster (too raspy), and now just replaced my SS Magnaflow with Speedforce's new QuietFlow. Am changing the tip back to the big 5" oval Magnaflow tip, but I like the new Quietflow, and so does my neighbor who'd been hassleing me. W/ST2 headers, no cat and 3" all through the sound is definitely still that of a performance car but doesn't raise eyebrows, and actuallly makes car more enjoyable to drive. Mine was loud with the Magnaflow--at any rpm. It's all but straight thru for all intents. Anyone need a nice Magnaflow in polished stainless 3" in/out on center? PM me.

Does anyone know the size of the stock cat-back piping? I want to go ahead and replace my cat with a straight pipe then throw a nice muffler on the end also, but I need to know what size the piping is so I can order a muffler. Thanks!

2 1/2 inches is the stock cat back piping. I just had a magnaflow 20" oval muffler installed with a 3" tip. The shop cut off the old muffler and welded the new one on. The exhaust is not much louder than stock, but it is not fully broken in yet. Turbo spoolup seems to be a tad sooner. I would next time go for a slightly larger tip, perhaps 3 1/2 inches, I was trying to avoid the ricer look, but my tip is the smallest possible you would want on our cars. I would Ideally want a nice polished oval that is larger than the stock part.
My muffler project cost about $300 and any muffler shop can do this.
