Brian: I also never had an issue with Lindsey, and I spent a ton of money as you know. For what it's worth here is my two cents. Personally, I like a car that rides firm, then again it isn't an everyday car. I went with 500 lbs/front & 325 lbs/rear & helper spring. We came to this conclusion based on their set-up experience, plus, the anticipated RWHP I would put down/my usage & driving style. I have to say that the car was fabulous, and it wasn't like my teeth were about to break too. Initially I was very concerned that the ride would be way to stiff, but honestly, it was perfect for me. And to boot, I was thinking about getting all spherical bearings too, but never did. Anyway, I hope that helps you a bit pal?

Ive got a bunch of assorted stuff from LR and ive been quite happy so far.

Ive settled on the Bilsteins and I like a stiff ride (the Welt sways never bothered me) but im a try before I buy guy Im thinking of 400 front and removing the TBars so 500 or whatever rear. And ive got Elephant Racing monoballs in the front, solid mounts in the back for the body mounts, and more stuff like that on the way

I'm running 350 fr and 550 rear with the tbars deleted. I have the Escort Valving which is like 638/210 front and like 565/180 rear. If I did it again I would actually increase the front spring rates to better match the valving. It can get bouncy over certain highway bridge expansion joints, and it is a result of the bad front combo. Other than that I love them in every other case. ( there are only two small sections of road like the ones I described and I'm almost never on either.)
I was really worried that I was going too stiff for the street but I turned out to be wrong. Make sure your sprongs are pretty close to your valving either way.
BTW I bought mine via www.eshocks.com along with springs and perches. I got a special adapter from paragon to make sure that the springs were properly held in place for 2.5 in. front springs for about five bucks. With the cost savings I was able to buy new drop links, 968 caster blocks, and a few other things. That's how much cheaper it was. YMMV

Well, I have sent an email to the salesperson noting what I have found here. Several of you have the Bilstein Escort Cup kit with matching color front struts. I have pointed this out and requested that the correct right side silver strut be shiped to me and the gold one returned. We'll see what happens. I really hope that I can work this out with them since they are a well respected Porsche parts supplier.

BTW, I ordered the kit with 500# springs for all 4 corners. I hope that wasn't a mistake!

Well FWIW my car is undersprung in the front, so I think you'll like it. One thing you'll notice is that you don't scrape the bottom of the front nose very often and you'll feel almost zero squat under full boost. If you have a separating rear hatch class, you may find that it starts to make...umm...interesting sounds...pulling in and out of driveways.
Guess what my next project is? ;(

I have also purchased thousands of dollars of stuff through Lindsey, and for the most part they have been very good to deal with. I once ordered a 3" exhaust and told them I wanted the flowmaster with it, and I got the magnaflow, but my customer didn't care, so it wasn't a big deal, but I am sure an exchange would have been painless if we had needed to do so. With that being said, Dave lost a $3500 sale 2 weeks ago because he didn't return my email and answer a couple of questions about a turbo kit (It was real simple, answer a couple of questions, get a big check). That money is going to be headed to Vitesse instead.

I have received a few PM's about who the vendor is in this situation. It has come to my attention that Lindsey Racing has been implicated even though I made no such acusation. For those who are wondering, it was NOT Lindsey Racing. I never meant to implicate them in any way. I have placed some small orders with LR and have been happy with their service and products. My apologies to Dave and his crew if there was any wrongdoing.

Good info, thanks! Did you get helper springs?

Mine were differnt colors - one yellow, one silver. I think they just came from different production runs. Same valving, same part#.

BTW - after ruining one in a crash, the new one was silver (which co-incidently replaced the old one which was also silver).

I am on escorts as well, 350F 400R. I am running the same setup as Ehall, and I am way undersprung in the front. I bounce quite a bit on the front over bumps. Shortly I am going to have them rebuilt with slightly different valving, and go to 500/550 most likely. I have also deleted the rear bars. Car is fully corner balanced/sorted. Great suspension! On the other hand though, when I bought the car (which it came with), it was yellow fronts/silver rears. Correct part numbers, but different from everything currently available. As I did research, I found that the yellow struts were the older style, same everything, but older. The silver struts are the newer model, but as I stated there is/was no different. When I called around, places like Lindsey racing sells enough that they don't really have much 'old stock', so you will get silver struts. Other, less volume vendors may send you a yellow one or two. Both my fronts are yellow, so it doesn't bother me.

What size springs are you guys running? I am thinking of going to a 5" rear spring from the 6" so that I can get a little more travel back out of the shock, and keep my same height. I have about a 1/2" left on the rear perches. The front is a 6" with a helper spring, and I have an easy 1" to go lower if I could.

No helper springs. I'm running 10" x 2.5 " fronts, to maintain stock ride height. I think the rears are 7" x 2.25 rear. I could go atleast an inch lower, or more if I wanted to track the car. I would then just buy a new set of hypercoils to match up. Service with e-shox was great BTW. They actually sent too many springs because they didn't realize that the shorter springs fit two per tube rather than one. I returned them with free shipping.

Well Ian - here is my 02 cents

I personally would find it completely and totally unacceptable to have two different colored struts for that kind of money. Understanding they are virtually identical I would still demand replacement or refund, and would ACCEPT NOTHING LESS! Too many other vendors can provide this product... and I imagine all would guarantee matching color if their cutomer required it.

You should not feel at all like you have to accept this just because others are OK with it.
Best of luck with this.

Update: I emailed the vendor about this situation this past Sunday evening thinking that he would receive the email on Monday. I still have no response. Tomorrow, I will use the phone. I think that this is worth fighting for. It's not a show car, but come on! This is what I call hookey.
