I think excellence has an up to date pricing guide for the 944 series.

From what I've seen the prices vary by region by at least 15-20%. A clean turbo out west can be had for $5K to $10K and up for an exceptional car. I'm not sure where your car is located but I would say $7K - $9K on the West Coast given the condition and mileage of your car. Some people look for an unmolested car and others look for the cherry; you just have to find the right buyer. Good Luck on the sale.

Are you sure those "values" are not the average cost of repairs?

I periodically do a national search on 951, and they seem to be coming up in prices.

Most clean examples are pulling $9-10K and up.

Last year I had to sell my '86 951, it had been wrecked and fixed, fairly stock with a very nice sounds system much like you describe. Body was in good condition aside from the scrapes I made wrecking it. I had konis front and rear, brand new tires, 140k miles on it. It was a street/track car. When I put it up for sale on ebay I started at 4000 I think, it sold to a local fellow at 7000. As another member here indicated, it does seem that the overall pricing of these cars is going up. I look often for another, and see prices steadily on the increase. From what I've seen recently, your car should bring 8-9K easy, and hopefully more. I advertised mine for what it was, a track beast, not a pretty car. That way I didn't have people asking silly questions like "is the dash cracked?". And no, the dash was pristine, and I don't know how. It sat outside in the sun all the time, and I would drive it until the snow got too deep for it to move out of the driveway.

Regards,
Russell

how about the turbo s? I have one of those first made S models 1988.5-silver rose

I assume that this will help the price but how much more?

IIRC the last Excellence magazine survey said that Turbo S models were selling between $10k and $14k, depending on condition and year ('88S or '89).

I was thinking my car would be in the asking $12K range. With the car being as nice and all the maintenance done and the paint being almost flaw less and it get's touched up every year with a air brush system. Then throw in the Mila Cup wheels car is not needing anything for allot more miles. Or maybe I am dreaming on what I think it is worth. Local shop that does the work seems to think it is a $12K car.

Wolf, I think you are absolutely on track and I would definetly pay 12k for a car like that. I bought mine 3 years ago with (very few rock chips), needing a clutch, and rear tires for 11k and I think I got an ok deal.

Thanks for the input, My reason for kicking around the idea of selling is to get a Bike a Buell and do some riding with my brother. He has a bike and we just don't spend anytime togather. Were both in our 40's and sorry to say it but time is sliiping away from doing stuff while we are still young to do it.
