Default What size CAT for 3" fabspeed exhaust?

I have a 3" fabspeed downpipe and catback on my car with the fabspeed test pipe that has a slip joint on one side and square flange on the other end. I need to get a slip on catalytic converter for those emissions tests. Fabspeed sells a racing cat that would work. It is $395, but from the looks, I have my doubts that it would actually pass emissions.

wow.. just looked at the fabspeed site.. it has been updated and looks pretty nice!

anyway... anyone know what size cat I need or know of a cheaper cat that can be used with this exhuast? $395 is too much for something I'm only going to have on the car 1 day out of the year.

I have this cat. It seems to work very well by my sniff test. It also fits perfectly. If you were local to me I would let you borrow it for emissions. Too bad you don't have a maf. You could tune it for emissions and would not even need a cat unless you need to pass a visual.

You might check SFR's site, as the fitment for their cat should be the "same".

I've got one of the earlier Fabspeed swap-in cats for sale, $300 if you're interested. Otherwise, all you need is a 3" in/out generic cat, a foot of 3" tubing, a 4-bolt flange, and a decent muffler shop. Not bling, but can be done for ~$150.

That's exactly what I did Sam. I used a CATCO converter, 3"in/out and had a 4 bolt flange with extension welded to the inlet side. Cost was just under $150 and this was for an SFR system.
