That additive is simply a volatile solvent; using fuel injector cleaner works great too.

My buddy's 944 kept failing, so I told him to add a bunch of f/i cleaner (two bottles) when the gas tank is really empty. He passed no problem.

IF you fail at this point -- running hot, high rpms, f/i cleaner -- throw some methanol in there. No kidding (don't go higher than 40% methanol:gasoline). The car will run like **** but it will pass with flying colors!

Then, make sure to fill that tank up immeeeed to lower the concentration of the f/i cleaner and methanol.

Just a helpful hint.

just get some 100 octane fomr sonoco. make sure you drain your tank or drive it as empty as you can. Also make sure you drive around before you take it in. If the car is hot it seems to get much lower HC and NO. I bumped my octane to 104 with home brew and ended up getting lower score than my 2004 bmw.

the t, the x forms a blue residue on all things rubber within a week of standing. So i dont take the risk in running it in the car.

I can verify that methanol works. As stated go right to a gas station and fill up as soon as you pass. In fact maybe even bring some gas in a can with you. last ditch solution but it does work.
