Could a 951 reach 200+ mph?

With stock gearing my 951S engine would be turning around 7500 rpm at 200 mph. I doubt the engine would last very long at that speed with stock internals. A taller sixth gear would be nice...

He does have the 951 tranny with S2 R/P, hardened 1st and 2nd gears, and LSD, and maybe something else. It's his track tranny, and is for basically flat out accel. He says coming out of corners he can't lay on it in 2nd as it'll spin them, and even in 3rd gear I believe.
The test was completed down in Texas couple years ago I think. Using a stock 951 tranny with top-speed ratios I'm assuming, it took him around 2 miles to even hit 200mph, and he then had to hold this 200mph speed for another required mile. He said it was very hard to maintain that 200mph, as the car was burried in the red-line, and I would guess shaking very badly. I believe since it was so hard to hold the 200mph, that his car probably topped at anywhere from 202-203mph. The car was pushing 335whp then, but he has recently put on a bigger turbo and something else.
The car is very beautiful if you have never seen it. Ocean Blue, 968 mirrors, 968 hatch, Fikse wheels, the Turbo decal on front passenger fender. It's a gorgeous car, and sounds even better.
The sticker in the rear driver window says "Grants 200mph club member", and when I first saw it, I told my friend, "I don't think this car did 200mph, as I have never heard of one doing it before. I think some other car he had did it, and he just puts the stickers on to brag...", until Scott walked up and started talking about the car, and telling us about the 200mph run.
If you guys still don't believe me, ask any KCWS member on here from the Kansas City area. They have all seen the car, and Jim has even driven the car! It's hard to believe, but it's the real deal.
Wait for Scott to chime in!

Maybe it's just that I'm used to people who are full of stories with nothing to back them up. I dont believe in anything without proof anymore. It's extremely easy for people to claim things with nothing to back them up. I have photo or video proof of 99% of anything I talk about. I'm quite sick of "my buddy did" "my friend's friend has" "I hear this dude has 147gagillion horsepower". I'll glady call bull **** every day of the week, especially on a car only making 340whp. I know a decent bit of what these cars are capable of and I know it's quite easy for people to get confused as to what can be accomplished. I dont profess to be an expert, but I'm not your "average" 944 owner. Go watch konstantin's video, he's making signficantly more power, with better gearing and his car slows down quite a bit up top. I find it VERY VERY hard to believe that some mystery 951 with 340whp hit 200+
Maybe downhill with a 40mph tail wind.
As quoted by Scott. Nice of you to go back and delete all your posts BigNNasty to try and cover your tracks. I find it especially hilarious that you made a big deal out of Scott being a lifetime member and how that somehow makes him better than everyone, yet you arent even a member yourself.

It doesn't make him better, but I don't expect a lifetime guy to bull**** things.
Lastly, you are half smart and your keyword was "yet". Exactly, I feel that there isn't a real need to be a member here yet, if I do not have a Porsche yet. I was thinking today of joining just to join, but then I came to this thread...o screw it.
As quoted by Tom R. and people, it will make no use of me to join, as I won't get help as it is, member or not...for simply the fact people don't like me. Thats fine, you don't have to like me.
Also, Scotts quote must not be serious, as Dfastest can obviously shatter that 180mph statement, and so can Scott, or wait...they are both RUMORED. Sorry!
Please, just leave this post at the last post in this thread, unless of course others have some actual tech or proof of Scotts car and, or other vehicles doing 185+ mph. No one wants to hear this **** match, if you have further comments to me, direct them to my PM box, or email, TmaxxManiaMan@yahoo.com
Thanks

Why is rennlist getting so rediculous. Every other post either someone is about to get banned or theres a heated argument. People need to just relax a little. Sorry if this makes anyone mad, but im sure everyone is thinking the same
