Default Quick advice please

Has anyone upgraded to 30mm hollow rear torsion bars. My car has the '89 turbo ones which I think are 25.6mm solids. I am about to upgrade suspension to KW custom race system but want to do a few other bits 'n' pieces like Poly-Bronze bushings and bearings. Any advice is appreciated as I have to make my mind up asap.
Thanks

We have to retain T-bars. However there may be more than one way to skin a cat it would seem.

I had a set turned down to 10mm - effective spring rate is under 10 lbs per inch!

Chris, won't they tend to break due to fatigue?

Nope, its nice spring steel and it only rotates 10 degrees or so - and there is no load on them.

I rode in my instructor's '89 944S2 at a DE in Seattle. 375lb front springs and 30 mm rear torsion bars. The car was very well balanced and the driver was very fast; keeping up with most of the GT3s and we passed a new Z06. Apparently there are two or three 944S2s around Seattle with this set-up and the drivers are very happy with them for DE.

Depending on the wording of your rules, you can just grind the splines off one end of the T-bar and leave it in - its far easier/quicker than turning one down, I've done both. If the rules require the t-bars actually function, then you gotta turn it down. If they just require that they be present, then grind the splines.
