I want to start a thread on how to make your own SS Fuel lines. This can be done for almost half the price of buying them. I have been looking at different sites and am trying to get an idea of exactly what fittings I need. I know that 2 compression fittings are needed for the hard fuel lines. What fittings are needed to connect to the fuel damper and pressure regulator? These are what I need to find i guess. JEGS has ALOT of fuel lines and fittings. With your help I would like to make a list of every part needed and figure out a total price list! Post what you know!
Thanks guys
Dustin

Dustin:
Go to Hydraulic Supply Company out on MLK past I-4. They carry Aeroquip hose and fittings which is better than the stuff sold through Jegs. If you're nice, they'll give you a catalog which is very handy to figure out what you need. I purchase all my AN hardware there, good guys.

Make sure you get metric fittings, because some people say you can use the American sizes... NOT! Especially when you are working with fuel right over your headers...

I fabricated my own lines, and made the fittings by welding steel bung fittings onto the fittings from the original fuel lines. I'll need to look at the lines to get the part numbers for you.

If I can find a good parts supplier, and get a total price list. I will install mine first, test it out. If all is good, we could put togeather a part number list from one supplier and lay it out easy with everything on the table! Thats what im trying to do with this thread!

I did the same as SeaCay. I purchased the steel (not blue aluminum) AN fittings. Where nessisary, I cut off the metric fitting and had the steel fitting TIG welded on. I cut off the stock FPR and installed a steel AN nipple in its place. This nipple had to be brazed, because all the stock fuel rail fittings are brazed. TIG uses higher heat and will affect the stock brazes. After all was cut, measured and welded, I had the steel fittings and fuel rail yellow zinc plated. For the flex fuel lines I used SS braided teflon lines. Teflon lines are the only ones that will hold up to race fuel. Rubber lines will eventually fail. When assembling the fuel lines I slid black shrink tube over SS then heat shrank it.
This setup looks completely stock.
