2900-2950rpm on a K26/6

There needs to be a standard on what gear.... useless trying to compare turbo spool if one is in 2nd and the other in 4th.

I wonder what aftermarket chip makers are going to be able to achieve... That flat torque curve reeks of limitation at work

Rogue
I think the de facto “Rennlist turbo spool-up standard” is:

1) 4th gear
2) Level ground
4) Warmed up engine
5) About 3200 lbs of car and driver
6) Start at ~2000 rpm, floor it and read rpm when it gets to 15 psi boost
The ambient temperature probably has an effect too.

My modified K26-6 did it at 2700 rpm and my modified K26-8 does it at about 3100 rpm.
If the Vitesse stage II can hold 18 psi (or above) to 6000 rpm, then I am impressed.

I'm only on pump gas so I'm only boosting ~16psi.
I did boost to 28psi by mistake once while troubleshooting a wastegate issue.
I wouldn't be surprised if this turbo could hold 25psi to redline.

When the turbo makes boost in a 4th gear rolling start from 2000 rpm is not a very good gauge of anything in my opinion. My Super61 makes my full set boost of 16 psi on the boost gauge by 2800 in those conditions. But because of cam, timing, backpressure, AFR, etc...it still doesn't start making big power/torque ie., noticable acceleration until around 3600 rpm. Just because you got boost does not necessarily mean you got power.

Stage 2 will hold 22+psi to 7000RPM (race gas only)...

It'll hold it, just don't try it

John, I know you are guarded about your turbocharger details, but are you willing to say whether the turbine is a -6 a -8 or something else. Due to backpressure a certain boost pressure with a -6 is a little less valuable than with a -8.

Don’t be a chicken, it just needs a cold shower (a.k.a. port water injection).

Laust

PS While it may be true to 25 psi, I hope readers know it is not advisable until someone has risked an engine and verified it in a well documented configuration or the seller (=Vitesse) has signed off on it.

Would've thought that you could provide a link, since you obviously posted it...
