I am going to install some new Delphi 55# injectors. These injectors are low impedance (coil resistance = 2 ohms).
I have searched and my head is still spinning from the "do i need resistors or not" threads. But I would like a final definitve answer from anyone who knows for sure wether I will need ballast resitors or not.
I dont want speculation I want a known answer and woul dlove to hear from anyone who has installed the same injectors.

Do you have a part number and/or can you post a picture. I believe these are the same injectors I ran for years (without resistors) but can't be sure without a part #.

I see. Those are not the ones I used -- mine were the 50# injectors listed directly above the one's you bought. The 50# injectors are listed as 12 ohms, and worked fine for years with no resistors. The 55# injecotrs you bought are listed as 2 ohms, so...
My old injectors are just sitting in a box, so if you want to return yours and use mine to be sure, I'll sell em for a song...

so maybe I bought the wrong impedance level? I wonder if I can still retrun them? I will take you up on your offer if I can get racetronix to take them back. Thanks.

Putting resistors in is not nearly as big a deal as it's sometimes made out to be.
Here's a good thread with pics of a couple of different installs Click Here

Agreed -- not hard. I'm sure you can use those injectors. I made a plug n' play module out of a little project box. Made a jumper plug too for those days when the resistors are not needed.

Haha -- I can help if you need it -- it's easy though -- just go to fry's and get a small metal project box, a disk drive power supply harness, some seat sink goo, and some little nuts and bolts, and a grommet. Fry's did not have the right resistors though, so you probably have to go to Jameco in Belmont or go mail order for them...

well as you can see this thread is about 1 year old and I had been running the car without resistors till now. I just figured I was running on borrowed time or maybe the need for resistors is just another urban legend.....
