Ball joint problem
Hi all,
I have a problem with the control arm on the driver side of the car.The ball joint has a big play and it needs to be changed. The problem is that a new control arm is pretty expensive and I want to ask if anyone knows if this control arm can be serviced and where.I have a 87 951.

Many folks have used the rennbay kits (including myself). I would recomend to anyone!
I opted for the solid bushing kit and am very happy with results. So long at you take your time an pay attention to detail the rebuild is straight foreward and not especially tricky.

Just replaced my ball joints about 2 months ago with the super delux kit from rennbay. Everything was easy except pressing in the ball joint and spring in. First I tried to use a c clamp to press it in but that didn't work. Then I used a hydraulic press and it was a snap. If you can get ahold of an arbor press or hydraulic press you should be fine. I would say it's a one man job although there were 2 of use working on mine.
Also, you might have to drill a hole in the control arm to get the old retaining clip out. You can just put epoxy in the hole to fill it in.
If you have any questions I can try to help you the best I can.
