'86 944 Turbo for sale (new website)
I have put my '86 944 Turbo in the classifieds. Trying to drum up some interest here.
It is a late '86 (2 piece crossover and bellows) with 138k on the clock. Zermatt silver/ black. Full cloth Porsche script seats (really nice). Clean Carfax. Full records from delivery in October of 1986 (over 80 pages).
Maintenance done:
-clutch at 122,000 miles
-waterpump/rollers at 120,000 miles
-timing/balance belt at 138,000 miles
-new rod bearings and oil pan gasket (old ones were in great shape)
-new TPS switch plus resealed throttle body
-new plugs and plug wires including distributor and rotor
-new filters
-new oil cooler seals
-new vacuum lines and venturi delete
-added Lindsey black **** MBC in place of rotten CV
-new motor mounts
-new hatch and hood shocks
-new shift boot and recovered steering wheel.
The car runs and drives very well. It has autothority chips and boosts fine to 15 psi. Oil pressure is 5 bar when rolling and 3 bar when idling hot. Koni yellows all around (474 option). No oil or coolant leaks. Also, absolutely no exhaust leaks! Air conditioning also is working great.
The only things that may need attention are the rotors need to be turned (buzz at 60 mph slow down), pads are okay. Windscreen has a 5 inch crack that is not spreading and not in line of sight while driving. Front bumper needs a respray due to rock chips but rest of paint is very nice and glossy with no dings. Car has 138,000 miles roughly on it according to the PO who owned it for the last 13 years. The odometer broke and has since been fixed by me. I have a Porsche Tequipment bra on the car now to cover the bumper. All undertrays are still on the car. Dash is cracked, but the rest of the interior is in excellent shape.
I'm looking for 8,000 for the car.
I also can work out a reduced fare airline ticket to Atlanta, GA if seriously (extremely serious) if it helps to seal the deal.
Pics upon request.

I created a website for the car. It includes records, and some more info and pictures.

Dang, it's gorgeous! Wish I had the extra cash (and room in the garage).
Gratuitous bump.

nice price - there was a post a bit ago from a fellow inquiring if he could get a decent turbo car for 8K or less.
I replied not likely...... perhaps I was wrong, this seems like a decent car at a nice price

Well I was going to make an offer until I saw that it was almost out of gas!
Very nice car. I always hate to see people with a well kept 951 sell. Hopefully a Rennlister will pick it up.
