Default Max tire size

Hi, as some of you have seen my post on my new 951. I was just wondering the maximum tire size I can put on rear stock 16" phondials. I've got the 225 Pilots on now and cant get them to stick when rolling in 1st and second, they break loose when I floor it. Thanks guys

Denis

i think the max would be a 245 tire...thats what i am running and i have only minor traction problems even with the vitesse stage 3.

You will likely be limited in tire size more by your rim width than fender clearance problems, which I'll assume is 8" with the phonedials. Check the tires recommended max wheel width. If you but too wide a tire on your rims, the tire will have a rounded profile on the ground contact and defeat the purpose of going to a wide tire. 245s are available, but I am not sure that there are many more larger choices. Also be sure you have proper tire presures, neither too low or high. My chipped 951S with 245s on 16x9' rims does not exhibit your traction problem on dry pavement.
