where to buy a new dme box?
hey guys, i cant find any loose wires with the dme box. it is the reason the car stalls. i have it out and loose on floor and if i move around or sqeeze it, car shuts off. if car is running and i move around enough the car stalls. SO, since all wires look solid and harness looks like new, i guess the box is shorting out somehere within board. what do i do??? can you buy new dme box's?

Open the box and inspect the solder joints on the boards. If you find one that's cracked, repair it. If you don't feel comfortable doing it, take it to a TV or electronics shop. When you have the condition you described, it's usually either a loose wire or a bad solder joint. Both are pretty easy fixes if you can locate it.

Yep, it sounds like you have a cracked solder joint -- a bright light, magnifying glass, and solder iron should fix it. Vertex and 944online sell "rebuilt" DMEs if you can't find the problem.

Yeah, have the same prob. Wiggle the connector to the DME and starts/stalls/sputters. Took is apart, resoldered. Twice. Even had a professional resolder it. Still have the prob. I think it must be in my connector, even though I checked it, and it seems to look good...
