Default Coolant leak

After my Mustang kill I discovered a slow leak under the water pump area. I did a search on this subject and I was wondering what scenerio I might have to deal with in case of a worst case situation. What are the 951 symptoms associated with water pump failure, aside from the obvious? Slow leak, fast leak--I'm hoping it's just a simple hose repair.

Do you have any way to pressurize the cooling system? I chased a very small leak for six months until I pressurized the system on the ramps. Actually it took two tries but I finally found it that way. Otherwise it is kind of a wait until it gets worse to find it, not always the best option.

Sears sells a good-quality cooling system tester for about 80 bucks.

I found out my leak was from the windsheild wiper reservor. But I will need to pressurize soon when I change out the water pump.
