I've had freeway runs with 600's and once with 2 guys; one on a 700 the other on an 1100 - from 90 on my car pulled on the 600 & 700. The 1100 left us like we were going backwards. The 1st time a ran against a 600 I was shocked that he didn't leave me but it makes sense when you consider the aero & HP advantage. Then there's my buddy's 'Busa - HOLY $hit! That thing has Champ-car acceleration - he's always talking about "making the jump to hyperspace" and that's exactly what it looks like from behind.

I dont really race on my bike usually (CBR 600), but there is the Evo 8 seems modded in town that is always blowing off at me and a few weeks ago we finally ended up going the same direction and was pretty far ahead of him from 20-110mph ...I really don't see a lightly modded 951 taking being faster then a bike till about 120-130, but if they were racing I think the bike would be far enough ahead at that speed the race would be over.

i dunno. i raced (what looked to be like) an FZ6 from i'd say 30-110. by 110 he had at least.......3 or 4 car lengths (yeah, car lengths) on me, but i started catching him reeeeeeal good after that point.

i stopped at about 130, and if i'd have kept going, i would have caught him.

now.........a liter bike could probably beat me if i was giving it full throttle and i had a 10 car lead, and he was giving half throttle, and had another person riding with him

All this talk is reminding me of a buddie that had a Vmax some years ago. Wow, that thing could accelerate!

I don't know on any 951s (short of ST possibly) that can match this kinda accel. in a 1/4 mile (esp. bone stock)

Here is a 2001 CBR600

1/4 mile..........10.59@128.23

0-60..............2.89
0-100.............6.61
60-0..............111.3'
Topspeed: 155.3

I think a nicely modded 951 should do ~8-9 seconds to 100 , ~5 sec to 6 and I have no idea on the 1/4s...but either way..wwwaay ahead of a 951 throughout the 1/4 mile (that trap speed is 128mph..insane!)

I'm not doubting that a 951 will be faster in the higher speeds (120+) but most sportbike riders won't race past 130 (the ones I know here) and they will still be ahead of the car.

FZ6 is the "naked" sportbike with a detuned r6 engine (tuned for more midrange) I bet not having its plastics didn't help. There is a very noticeable difference in acceleration when I'm tucked vs. more upright.. I imagine the bike would be even slower without its slipperly plastics..

Man I wish I could go riding....too bad the wheel is bent and I won't have a new one for a week

90% of the guys you run into on the street cant ride good enough to run an 11sec et much less a 10.Its not easy to launch a bike.

I certainly can't, but I'd hope someone that is racing (that was a one time thing) a bike would be able to ride it...but at the same time alot of people can't drive good enough to run those kinda times either...either way bikes/ modded 951s/etc are fast enough
