bleeding cooling system
Put new turbo in my car and had to disconnet some coolant lines. I think i got some air in the system. Can I bleed the system with coolant already in the car or do i have to drain it. If I can bleed with coolant in is the procedure different?

you just loosen the bleed screw on the water neck at the front of the head and make sure the car is on full heat for the heater and I beleive it is also good to raise the driverside front up more than the rear

You can pretty easily bleed the car by pressurizing the coolant expansion tank slightly and opening the bleed screw. I just clean off around the tank cap area, seal with my mouth, and blow. Doesn't take a lot of pressure. And yes, I think the car enjoys it too...

Worse case is having to do it at the track w/ your friends standing around. I've observed, but never had to do it at the track.

If you want to maintain some decorum, remove the overflow tube and put a piece of clean tubing there instead. Hold your hand over the reservoir opening while you blow on the tube.
