Default Rear brake lights don't work!

My rear brake lights don't seem to be working anymore when I step on the brakes. Somewhat of a bad thing at night if you don't want people to rear end you

I checked the fuse box, everything looks to be in proper order, checked the wires in the back, they look fine, only other thing I can think of is the sensor on the brake pedal under the dash. How can I test if this is what is causing me the problem? The rest of the rear lights work by the way, jsut the brake ones are out.

Oh and the bulbs are good too. Any help is greatly appreciated. Thank you all!

Alex, take a multimeter, put it in continuity mode and connect one lead to each side of the brake switch. push the plunger on the switch in by hand not with the brake pedal and see if it show continuity. if it doesn't it is a bad switch if it does reconnect it to the brake pedal and check again by depressing the brake pedal. If it doesn't show continuity now it is simply out of adjustment, readjust it and recheck. Hope that helps...

looking at fuses doesn't do squat, you need to check them with an ohmmeter.

Problems with gauges also? I had intermittent probs with my brake lights not work, as well instruments. Turned out to be the ignition relay. Swapped it with the G12 (driving lights) relay and worked great!
