Ski: well, about 160K+ total but about 7K since rebuild. before rebuild I alwasy used 20-50 non syn and in heavy summer months used Valv 60W racing.

But now running full syn and most in here seem to run lower weights when running syn. But I have not problems running heavier weight.

ST: ok, thanks.

20w-50 is mineral based, not synthetic

My car runs much smoother compared with synthetic

Even at 220F oil temp, still have over 2 bar

"20w-50 is mineral based, not synthetic"

So I guess that is why I can't find heavy weight synthetics

If anyone can comment on driving in hot climates you certainly can Hos!!!

Well, the heaviest full synthetic oil i found here was 15w-50.....

The weather here has gone crazy, 95% humidity, 46C during the day and 33-37C during the night (depends).........

I WAS runing mobil 1 0w-40 here last summer, with similar weather conditions, i still had 2bar on idle when warm, in traffic, ac on full etc.......but this 20w-50 is bar far much better suited here, and the car likes it.

Yea, I searched and looks like Amsoil and Redline are the only syn that offer high weight.
