I have tried it with not such great results. Under the gold is copper and under that is pot metal. It's a pain in the *** to remove the top 2 layers and then the metal underneath isn't very accepting to polishing. I let it sit in Tarnex overnight and it still took a few hours to get each layer off. It then took another couple hours to polish it and it looks like crap because of the quality of metal the part is cast with.
