Default Weird Cooling issue just arose

OK, this is prolly a dumb question but i want to ask anyway.

Tonight i got home from work and heard this weird hissing coming from under the front of my car. Pop the hood and get out a flashlight. I see the driver side radiator hose hissing and shooting bits of coolant everywhere... i'm like WTF.. it wasn't hot or anything. (Coolant looks fine so i'm assuming its not a blown HG.)

I'm assuming the hose is just shot after begin on the car 18yrs.

Just want a second opinion.

I dont think a leaking hose means a bad HG. its most likely just the hose getting to old

Yea, that's all it is.

Be smart and replace all of the hoses now. If a heater hose leaks into the clutch, you'll be learning how to change a clutch before you want to. The plastic heater valve can crack so replace it also.

BTDT, the 2nd time would be much easier

Thanks guys, i just wanted to make sure I was correct. With these cars, you never can be too sure.

Oh rocky

Is this the correct hose? I don't see a turbo specific one, just "944"

Nein! Das is fur ein N/a. Which drivers side hose be you talking about? The one going from the resivour to the turbo waterpump and coolant bridge? Or the one that goes to the block on the head?

Them cousin Skeeters. Was it the at the top or the bottom of the raditizzor. I think 9Five1 has a spare that he could probally let you have for free, if you dont mind it being used.

Look at the bright side, at least your car doesnt have a huge herpes wart on the hood.

If it's an 18 y/o hose (!?), then that's probably all it is.

Just as an aside, a leaking HG can pressurize the cooling system and pop hoses. Just something to keep in mind if you find it impossible to vent the system after you change the hose.

I dunno. I once did a 20 year old, although ive been doing a lot of newborns lately. The newborns seem to hold coolant better than the 20 year olds.

Ok, someone help me. I cannot find this hose ANYWHERE! I've checked Zim's and Parago and I cannot find it. The only place i've found it is on ebay in a entire hose kit for $100.

#14 is the one I need!
