i upgraded my brakes
hi guys,
i finally got around to getting my upgrade together, because i have an 86' i have the smaller brembo calipers.so i wanted to upgrade to the later turbo s brakes but keep the same 23mm offset. so what i did was buy a set of 87 hubs and axles, turbo s calipers, lindsey racing adapters, braided lines and i bought new bolts and bleed nipples for the calipers. but i am using my original control arms. here are a few pics...

Thanks for sharing your pics.
I also own a '86 951 and think about upgrading brakes to the Turbo S ones. I've all the parts needed in stock (hubs, spindles, rotors, calipers from a Turbo S) but as I want to keep my Fuchs wheels, I still have an hesitation in installing all these parts.
I'm a bit reluctant to use brake caliper adapters (axial / radial fitment) but it looks to be a good way to go to run Fuchs wheels with 928S4 brakes. Any feedback about the strength of the adapters sold by LR ? Any failure ?
TIA

there is no need for me to upgrade the rear. in fact i get a bit to much rear braking with my standard setup. true also you do lose some negative camber, camber plates will fix this though. cost wise..i paid 150US for the adapters from lindsey racing, 300AU for the calipers, 600AU for the axles and hubs, the braided lines i got made up locally for about 250-300 i think.(i couldnt use the ones from lindsey because i bought 928 s4 calipers which are the same size dimentionaly but have a banjo bolt where it connects up to the caliper).
i should think the caliper adapters are strong enough,i have a few track days coming up so i will see how they hold out.

I know that Sean did this last year. It's an old post. I don't think he's having the same issues any more. He actually won our state P-club champs with this setup so it must be ok!
