>>>Have you had a chance yet to test it in the hills to compare the power band to a turbo, the torque must be absolutely scary? <<<

It's not that the torque is scary. It's just that it makes big power at any rpm, at any speed. Because of this... you need to make sure you know what's in front of you before you punch it, as there's no delay in the power delivery. It's immediate.

You can punch the car at 1500 rpms in 5th gear and it pulls hard. Yes you could down shift and it would pull harder. But unless you're racing someone, there's simply no need... It's got all the power you need, at any point in the rpm range (which is about 1500rpms to 6500rpms).

The area-under-the-curve is about 2x (if not more) that of the turbo setup (pretty much any 951 turbo setup).

The car is just flat out fast. And it feels much faster than any of my previous 951's.

>>>Tony, I figured that much about the headlights. Used to have them. Hate them. I wish I had just gone with the Arktek 968/993 fenders.<<<

Yeah. I knew the head lights were junk. But there was no choice as we could not get the other setup in time. (which we still don't have).

I have not seen the Arktek fenders. Do you have a link?

Thanks,

Tony, here's a pic (attached). 968 Fenders, with 993 Litronics. If/when I buy a 968 it's getting those. Oh yeah, I spelled the company wrong in the first post, it's Arktech, they run in JGTC with the super widebody 968. The fenders run about $800 a pair in dry carbon.

The fenders look like standard 968 fenders. From the pictures, they don't look to be any different or any wider than standard 968 stuff.

The side skirts and front nose cover are obviously different though. Am I missign something?

Tony aparently the openings are different so the beam pattern on the 993 headlights is correct. But I dont know of anyone who's actually bought a set to comment.

Oh yeah, what exhaust do you have?

It's weird to see a 944 take off from a stop like that. It just didn't make sense for a sec.

Damn Tony that thing hauls. I'll have to shoot this video to my co-worker who has a 83 944 with an LT1, he was thinking about going to a 383 and this may just sway him

What numbers are coming out of the engine and how much are you selling it for and why. Great vid.

I could have sworn I already posted in this thread...weird.

Awesome sound! I was afraid of too much low pitched "good old"-V8 sound but that sounded great.
What mods have been done on the engine?

Nicely done, Tony. Is the motor stock or does it have cams, head and intake? My friend with the RX7 swap cam'd his and it moved the power band higher up and gained about 100hp with a better curve. Moving the power up higher helped with such a light car as it was hard to control with so much power down low.

Wait is that a 951 or a 968?
