Just asking cause there is a VP gas station not too far from where I live, and they sell the 101 for $6.25 a galllon and the 103 for $7.25 a gallon, I was considering trying it out in my car...

Make sure it's unleaded (I think it must to be sold to the public).
Unless your car is knocking (KLR pulling timing) or you plan on running higher boost, there is nothing to gain from using the higher octane.
If you plan to somehow advance the timing, then you might need the higher octane.

Well, it can kill a catalytic converter in miles; I have seen several cars at the track that died before they could exit the facility after loading up on leaded fuel.
The life of an O2 sensor is greatly reduced and the performance becomes very suspect long before it dies. The lead just coats the ceramic coating of the O2 sensor and plugs up the flow of gases it measures. Most folks that run leaded gas (including aircraft that use leaded fuel) use an exhaust temp sensor to determine proper A/F ratios.

Leaded fuel can be sold to anyone.
I've burned through many many 54 gallon barrels of that stuff.
But leaded fuel will for sure kill the 02 sensor in very short amount of time. Don't have first hand experiences with leaded fuel and cats... but I'm sure those would be toast as well in short order as well.
Even as little as 4 gallons of leaded per tank mixed with a full tank of unleaded will kill the wide band 02 sensors fast (they become slower and slower to respond, as well as more inaccurate and more inaccurate... until they simply stop responding).
