Whats the best boost controller for Tial 38mm
I have just purchased a Tial 38mm dual port wastegate and am currently running a reliaboost controller. I have not yet fitted the WG, but keep getting different opinions on MBC's.
Is it best to get the black **** type? I see Boost Sciences has a reasonably priced one, or is there something better.
I am in Australia, so I will have to order something from overseas im sure..

I have a Black **** MBC from Lindsey and it works OK.
I do not like how it spikes to 17.5psi in 1st and 2nd when boost is set at 16psi in 4th.
I do not like how I have to adjust the controller whenever there's a change in the temperature.
(midday --> evening --> ~2psi difference).

In this day and age, an EBC. Sorry, but that's the honest truth. There are some quality MBC's out there (I've never found one), but it can take only one large boost spike to blow your motor. IMO, it's worth the added insurance to go EBC. Otherwise, friends have used the "blacknob" type and seem to be pretty satisfied.
BTW, I believe my last MBC was an accuboost from Boostsciences. These are supposed to be a good, reputable MBC. On the final day I had it, the boost was set to .6bar (I was messing with various boost levels because I was bored ) Eventually it spiked to 1.3 bar while set at .6bar. It made a few other similar spikes. The end result? I bought and installed a Blitz ebc the same day. Also, my car was functioning properly (no vacuum leaks, wastegate functioning properly, etc). Oh yeah, compared to the 3 different MBC's I used, my EBC dropped ~700rpm off my boost threshold.

this might be a mbc worth trying,

It has a relief valve inline with a pressure regulator which should allow you to not only adjust boost, but also control the rate of spool which is major. I'm running this setup and love it.
but as Jimbo1111 said, this setup is very compact & not a hassle to put together as mine was.

depends on how you want to use it i think which way to go. For set and forget, i'm happy with the black **** mbc. Have kept it in the engine bay too, have no need for it in the cabin.

Blitz SBC (Twin Solenoid - Spec-R or iD) is the best EBC on the market. It will give you faster spool-up and much better boost control than the ball valve. It is also capable of numerous features, one of which can easily save a motor (Porschefile can remember hitting the warning on cool night, which happened to draw attention to the fact that the car was detonating pretty hard).
I don't care what people say about a ball valve, it will never be as good as a EBC.
Being in Oz, you can find one at any of the Jap tuners around. Adelaide comes to mind, they do alot of Nissans.

As long as it's not an HKS EVC you are good IMO.

I'd recommend against the Greddy Profec B Spec 2. I was working on my 911 yesterday and must have accidentally bumped into the boost controller. The **** that adjusts the boost level has no sort of safety lock out function. On Blitz EBC's, you must push the button before it will allow you to adjust boost. I run 1 bar but am only on 37# injectors at 430rwhp (not my choice, PO set it up this way, not cool IMO), which is 100% maxed out out on those injectors. Well, from bumping the boost controller I spiked to 1.3 bar and got some serious detonation. Luckily it looks like I got off clean this time. End result, this Greddy piece of trash is going in the garbage can. Blitz is the best, hands down.

That can't happen, unless you're greddy unit is different than mine. On mine you need to turn the ****, then the number flashes, you turn the **** to change the setting, then you push it to have it save the setting...
