Mine was built 9mos ago and I never got a call. and it will be on a truck back to them this afternoon.

Considering the size of this slip up, I highly reccommend everyone insist on a written warranty. All it takes is for bob to become unemployed and the owner to start handing out excuses that the failures are our fault.

I should have known when the website, the front door to your business these days, doesn't even work right

When I first talked to bob about my conversion I asked if they did the aerodynamic bullet nose over the shaft nut, he said no. This is another good reason to be thankful they don't!

What are we upto, 5 crap turbos? I think it's a good idea to alert the other forums.

Geeze... I feel for ya guys. That is a ****ty deal all around. And then even after it is all "made right" you gotta wonder what else might go wrong in 6 months or a year... what else may have been overlooked?

If it were me I would source a turbo somewhere else and demand a refund..... although from the sound of it you might be hard pressed to get any $

Thanks for the heads up

If I remember correctly, I think his name is Charlie. I believe he does the turbo builds for Powerhaus here in AZ.

Charlie!, that's the name..............so he does the turbos for powerhaus?.............he must be good that.
I Ask him about a convertion to a K27/6, and he said about $700 parts and labor. If he is good , prices seens right. I think the next time I need a turbo rebuilt I just give them a call.

Regards,
AL

wow too many problems from multiple people to be over looked. Good thread and thanks for the heads up about his company.

I wonder if he realizes how dangerous stuff like this is for your business. Once a thread like this one gets out your pretty much screwed. Your going to be taking a hit regardless.

To the thread starter. I agree with you 5 turbo's is just *ucking stupid. I wouldnt want to do business with him anymore either. You can be a nice guy all day long but, if you can't deliver, you can't deliver

UPDATE My turbo arrived at Turbo Performance at 2:21 today and I called bob to make sure he knew what I expected, a message was taken by a co-worker and my call was not returned. Go figure.

Default What can one learn from a post like this ?

I have one question here, After hearing all the praise and satisfied customers that Vitesse has gotten on this board (being a sponsor to boot )
Why would someone screw around with what some could call, the heart of our cars, only to save a few 100 dollars ?? Just the labor on a **** up like this is is way over a few c notes ...
I am sorry for all your troubles guys ...
I would recommend a call to John
Good luck guys
Regards
Ed
ps he sells off the shelf stuff as well

You may want to call the bank that issued your credit card, and ask them to reverse the charge for the $1,100 he over-charged.

Why couldn't this have been done the first time?

Turn around was three business days and luckly I was home for the delivery, without a notification or signature required at delivery and this baby was just sitting on the porch...

Paragon crush seals will be here tomorrow, time to get to work.

Geoff and Hank, feel like putting a turbo in instead of our planned sight seeing Fri?

Well, all these guys are doing K27/6's. John Doesn't do the 27/6. I'm not even sure if he supports them.
There are lots of shops that sell/build turbos with great quality that aren't John, or John's prices. My new TO4E is From Innovative, and I doubt there is anyone here that has had a bad experince from them.
