Your welcome, it was one of the more interesting threads lately.

These cars are great since there are so many ways of upgrading and none is really wrong, and this board is full of people who document their mods. All fun.

I can't wait to get my car together, hopefully I will be able to test the Vitesse S3 kit in June.. It sucks having the car 650 km's away from where I am working..

Thank you all for the help/advice. I will be making some improvements over the winter months to reach my goal. I am starting with a Tial wastegate and cat "test" pipe soon.

You can't bring a stock car dyno as proof that a 3" exhaust will not benefit a car producing 100whp more.

So why does vitesse say its 410hp if everyone here says its 300?

is it really 410 or not or is 20psi too much to run on a stock engine?

http://www.vitesseracing.com/Catalog.../stage_ii.html

and why get stage III if stage II produced more power?

Correct, but on the matter regarding if a 3" exhaust will be beneficial for a car with a stock turbo it is of interest.

If it's on a stock turbo or not is not the interesting part. It has more to do with power- and boost levels.

Acutally a stock turbo run at high boost might benefit from a less restrictive exhaust as least as much as a bigger turbo.

Vitesse is not claiming 410whp on your application. This is just showing what the ST2 is capable of. The ST3 is capable of more.

I just upgraded my car. New K27/6,55 injectors, LR waste gate, 3 FPR, Vitesse MAF, Greedy Profec b boost controller. I had it dynoed on a Mustang dyno and got 272rwhp at 15lbs boost. I had a bunch of vacuum leeks. I fixed the vacuum leeks and the car runs much better but i did not have it re dynoed yet. I have stock exhaust minus cat and a performance muffler. What kind of hp increase would i get if i did a 3" exhaust?

like i said before, i gained 40+whp after switching to a 3" exhaust.

my mods:
Vitesse Maf kit, LR DP WG w/ MBC, 72# injectors, smt-6, LR 3" exhaust. i was running 15.6 lbs. of boost on my K26/6. *note* the run with the stock exhaust was @15.4lbs. My 3" exhaust does NOT have a cat or muffler.

I still have a little tuning left to do. So the next time i get back from the dyno, i'll post results.

Full 3" with cat bypass would probably help you pick up 10-20hp. But get the leaks fixed and you should be able to crank the boost up to 18# - you should be close to 320 rwhp then. Just make sure you drill the AOS vent so you don't start springing leaks

eclou, my airleek are all fixed . car runs great. Just kicking around if it is worth spending more money. If the gains are worth the extra HP.

eclou, can you please elaborate on drilling the AOS vent? Springing oil leaks? As in from the seals, from running higher boost levels? And where do you drill? Thanks!!
