ISV Removal
Anyone ever removed the ISV without having to take the intake manifold off? I have a leaky ISV from both end to include the elec connector end.

Rumor has it you can do it on an NA but not a turbo. I would agreee with the 30 minutes to remove the intake if you have done it before, closer to an hour for me the first time (on an NA). Buy new gaskets though. I marked the vacuum line connections with dots of different colored paint, I think it saved time in the end.

However, if you are just looking to remove the ISV (as opposed to replacing it with a new one), you do not need to remove the intake manifold. All you need to do is cap off the barb on the intake manifold that comes from the ISV, and the barb on the hardpipe that goes to the ISV. You can physically leave it in there without any problem.

You want the IAS/ISV/IAC for nice smooth idle control, expecially with A/C. We even put it back in in our track car, as the car wanted to die coming into pit lane.
Nice job there Kevin.

Me too. I even leave the dip stick on the manifold -- saves another 5-10 minutes -- and no hassles getting that bolt back in...
