Question Does anyone know the status of the 1:18 Scale 944 Models??

I wasn't sure if this should go in off-topic or not since all my searches came up with stuff in the turbo forum, so I will just post here.
Does anyone know what the status is of the 1:18 scale 944 models? I read some stuff about autoart making them, but that was over a year ago. I also checked autoart's website but only saw factory photos for the 944 models, which I assume means they aren't out yet. Does anyone know anything? My collection needs one now lol.

No one has any info? This seemed like a hot topic a year ago.

I searched for any 944 models a couple of years ago, I found some 1/24th scale but don't recall any 1/18th scale.

Frank, those links you provided are for the mentioned "Auto Art" product. I've placed a couple pre-orders for them and have heard NO updates. An e-mail to Die-Cast Muscle where I pre-ordered them came back with "We don't know, you can ask auto art", and provided a link to their website. The contact on the "auto Art" website for the USA is: contact@gatewayglobal.com. I just sent them an inquiry, we'll see what comes back. Maybe the more of us that inquire, the sooner they will spool up tooling!!

The "source" was ebay, I don't think they are currently manufactured. I ended up selling the one I had (on Rennlist), at a loss.

Yeah everything I searched for on google for autoart 944 came up with preorder stuff. One site said something about the 944 and a bunch of other models are supposed to be released soon. Hopefully they are still working on it.

The Bastages wrote back-

Hi Dan,
The Porsche 944 would not be released till 2007.
By the way, do visit our online website www.aa-oollection.com regularly to see details on our new releases and current models.

I emailed them too Dan. Like you said, maybe if enough of us bug them, they will make them sooner. So did they charge your card when you placed you preorder?

I don't think Die-Cast Muscle pre-charged me, that I noticed anyway.

It seems that link in their e-mail does not work.

What a beating this subject has been
Just buy the 24 from minichamps and hope one day it will grow up to be the far more successfully marketed and distributed older brother(s).

I have had a 1:18 951 on pre-order for months and am really disappointed that 2007 is the release date. I have the 924 model and it has awesome detail as you can see in testarossa's pic. I should post some pics of my 1:18 porsche collection.

Did anyone else notice that the two responses were slightly different - "not be released till 2007", and "probably be released in 2007". The second response is the key one - "probably". Sounds like they are taking an each way bet and trying to keep interest while still not fully committing.

How long does it take to develop these models? After all they already have a 1:18 scale model of the 997 Carerra S available.

Don't forget that there are other manufacturers of good quality models and none of them have a 944 series available.

Quick Reply: Does anyone know the status of the 1:18 Scale 944 Models??
