Default Billet BOV

Should have done this before I bought the valve, however, I just bout a billet BOV(evoms) from Paragon as mine has given up the ghost.

Any opinions about these billet valves?

Have'nt owned one myself, but I've heard some people complaining that they have failed quite quickly. ATPTurbo has a nice selection of BOVs (HKS, Greedy..etc) and the adapters to make them fit into our stock J-pipe.

How have they failed? They use a billet diaphragm versus a rubber one like on a stock unit. The only thing I know of that can fail is the o ring under the top cap. We sell a ton of Evo billet valves, and I know of 1 that came back, due to that o ring. Other than that, they are bulletproof.

I run it, no problems to report. Much better the the factory one that wouldn't last. I've had it for a couple years, but not that many miles.

I have the DV billit and works great. Over a year now and running 18+ psi.

Cool, well this will be a good purchase. I tried to fix my BOV(stock) but that didn't work too well

Heh, i've went thru a stock one and a Saab one, so i'm done messing around. I'm picking up the Evo one here shortly from IA.

I so far have tried Bailey, Forge and finally last year I switched to one I got from 9XX (handy as they are in my town)... and have just brought another one for my 964 turbo2 as well.

The Bailey one leaked after a couple of thousand miles and the Forge one used to stick.. the 9XX one has been on my 944 turbo for about a year now without issues.

Not sure about the Evo ones... I know I am not the first to have problems with the Bailey or Forge ones, but the EVO ones seem to be popular with the 964 turbo community and I am yet to hear of problems with one.

Here is a picture of the EVO valve. As you can see, with the billet diaphragm, the only thing that could possibly fail are the o rings that make the seal. They have a lifetime warranty, so if they ever do go bad, we replace the o rings, and the valve is as good as new. I will see if i can find time to cut open a bosch unit to show the difference.

The 20 yr old OE Bosch unit looks like a real piece of **** compared to the billet one. Ive had the EVO valve for a month or so and so far so good. It took care of the fluttering sound the original was making...

Lol, even after 15-20k miles they go bad, let alone 20 years Most of the new audi, jettas, etc that use the same valve all come in with blown diaphragms with low mileage.

Received the Evo billet blow-off valve yesterday and I have to say it's a nice piece of hardware. It's always nice to have these parts come in the mail..

Nice and solid design..
