Default MY new 86 951

Hello everyone! I just buoght my first 951! Its silver, 69,000 miles, and in almost flawless condition. This is my first water cooled porsche. I've spent some time with *** draggers and I must admit, I love this car!

That is a sharp car. Mine doesn't look anywhere that nice, but is very mechanically sound and I beat it like a red-headed step child on the race-track.

burgundy interiors are growing on me. at first i didnt like it on my 951, but now it's getting to look really nice.

oh well, if at all possible, keep the license plate off the front, sooooo much cleaner that way.

or get a euro plate...

any mods?

Welcome aboard smac! You live smack (sorry, couldn't resist!) in the middle of the worlds largest geographic Porsche community. I don't see or hear of many 951's in the area though.

As you may have read a lister will be visiting from Queensland in a couple of months so keep your eyes peeled and hope to see you there. If you think the car is as fast as you'd ever want it, don't look in the 951 forum These NA guys get real testy when you mention booost.

Thanks guys. I want more power! It already has Weltmeister chips what else should i get? I hate to change too much of the car because it is a true survivor. It appears that exhaust parts are the most expensive aspect of these cars is that true? Also, how much abuse can these cars take? It's fun to drive fast, and with the turbo that means hard acceleration.

Crack open a couple of cold ones and search the archives for these topics: Performance Mods, Tial 38, EBC, MBC, MAF, Vitesse Stage II, and MO30 suspension for a start. But make sure her current mechanical condition at least meets stock scpecs.

There is an AMAZING amount of after factory stuff available for these 18-20 yr old engines and this path you are starting on has been beaten into a super-highway, let the archives provide a foundation.

BTW, is it true what they say about dogs and their owners? I think that may be why testarossa, one of the resident graphics guru's, created a new avatar for you.
