Tony (and everyone else),

This is not a performance upgrade, but rather a relatively simple way of getting a “peace of mind” regarding a potential timing belt failure.

This modification lowers the compression ratio from 8.0 to 7.9 and as Rande mentioned I have not been able to detect any difference in engine behavior from idle to max power. With custom GURU chips and the current cool California weather I am running 87 octane on a daily basis and frequently push the boost to 23 psi. Apparently due to the characteristics of the chips the part throttle high boost gives some very brief pinging before the port water injection does its job. Counter-intuitively the brief pinging is not there at WOT, where the chips can be properly programmed.
For convenience (easy access to belt and water pump change) with less concern of premature wear I am also running without belt covers.
