Hi Guys
Can those that have or had experience with an aftermarket front spoiler please give their opinions as to the difference if any you have noticed. Is there noticeably more downforce or better high speed turn in with one? Also is it a hassle around town with scraping etc...?This is for a Road and Track car.

If you actually want performance then I'm afraid there isn't much out there that wouldn't be a compromise. A real air dam, which would have a real performance effect, wouldn't be drivable on city streets because it would have to be so close to the ground. On the track it would be great, but you won't clear a curb with a unit that has any real effect at anything less than high speeds. The vast majority you will see via search here, are for looks.
If I were you, I'd buy one and rig it to install and remove in reasonable time, so you can use it for track days.

There is a ton of info in the archives so do a search for AIR and GT Racing splitters.
I have the GT Racing unit and have only a few scrapping issues and thats only entering steep inclines.

The AIR one I know is pretty robust.....and easy enough to fiberglass back together. I know from expieriance.
A slow impact into a parking bumper or curb will not damage the splitter very badly but a highway speed impact will (I know from recent expieriance)
It is also easy enough to put back together with a fiberglass repair kit and some filler.

Thanks guys. I think the AIR one has the ayes as it were. I talked to JET951 today and he puts it on for race day and removes it for street. Looked simple enough so I think I'll give it a berl. (That's Aussie for 'Try it').
