Default poor fuel economy after rebuild

I'm about 800 miles into a full rebuild of the engine and I'm getting terrible fuel economy. I've got Vitesse MAF chips (55# injectors), LR stage II MAF, and the LR fuel rail with adjustable fuel pressure regulator. I've set the fuel pressure to 3 bar at idle, and I've zero'd out any adjustment to the MAF signal in my PowerPerfect (just running the Vitesse map). It smells a little rich, but not TOO bad, and I'm really staying out of boost pretty well. Unfortunately, I'm only getting about 16-17 miles per gallon. Is this typical of a fresh rebuild? Has my O2 sensor bought the farm? Should I just hurry up and get to a dyno to find out how rich I am?

Did you set the fuel pressure with the vacuum line disconnected? If you're not running a cat it will smell a bit rich.

Did you do the rebuild and all of the mods at the same time? Or did your gas mileage just go to hell after the rebuild only?

16-17mph on the highway, or city/highway? Sounds about right to me, given the mods, if you are talking city/highway driving. Don't switch to a S2 r&p, or you'll *really* see your gas mileage go down! lol

get you a WBO2 so you don't have to go to the dyno.

I think your foots heavy you're just telling yourself it's not...that quick rush, pin your back to the seat

mods and rebuild at the same time, fuel pressure set with the vacuum line disconnected, didn't touch the fqs, mileage is city/highway (but definitely more highway that city). Ski, I got on boost 3 or 4 times to set the MBC, no heavy foot other than that (I think).
