Default Very tempted by this one....whaddya think?

I'm seriously tempted to buy this car.... I'm going to try and post some pix and see what the group mind has to say. Car has about 90K miles and lots of recent maintenance including clutch, head reconditioning with all new valves, etc., etc. I don't like the rear end piece, even though owner paid lots to have it done...I imagine it could be returned to stock fairly easily. Give me an opinion on what you think would be a fair/good price for it....

Stephen, it'd be great to see you rejoin the fold! Thats an interesting car alright, what are those seats from, a 928? I'll lay first dibs on that rear piece, if you decide to remove it. I have an extra rear valance in good shape that I can offer in trade, if you need one.

Regards,

Hi Scott,

Not sure on the seats. Current owner says they are "Recaro deep bucket leather seats" that he paid $2,500 for. I'll know more tomorrow when I talk to him at greater length. I want to check the car out thoroughly, but it sounds like he has really put a lot of attention (and $$) into the car.

After you talk to him tell us about those "deep dish" cup wheels, they look great! The seats are pretty trick too!

I think the rear is a Fiberwerks unit, right? Andthe wheels are factory units, not RUF. Nice looking car, tho.

That's not a 968 bumper.

It looks similar to the Fiberworks rear end, except for the complete cut-out for the rear tailpipe:

on what cars did these come from the factory? They must have been a fairly rare option; what are they called? They look an awful like the RUF rims to me:

come on guys, you would think by now all rennlisters should know these cars really well.
wheels are RUF. not factory
rear bumper is not a 968 bumper, its a fiber glass bumper that can be bought from many places, i had it on an 86 i had couple of years ago
seats look like BMW seats
it looks like an 89 (door panels)
it laso got the euro fog lights (nice)
looks like a nice car , it all depends on the price and mileage
