Default Wastegate leaking

Hey,

I have come to find out that I have a huge exhaust leak at the joint between the wastegate and crossover pipe. The Tial wastegate does not have any sort of gasket there.

The only way to fix it that I can think of is to put some sort of gasket between the two. Any recommandations on where to get a gasket or how to make one?

Thanks,
~Josh

Are you talking about the sealing ring b/t the WG and adaptor plate to the x-over? If so it's part number 993 111 195 00. Is the leak between the Tial adaptor plate and stock pipe?

it's on the inlet side, between the pipe and adapter. That's why it is a big problem, it is not just an exhaust leak but a boost leak as well. I just need to find or make a gasket.

I just finished a major exhaust re-seal, and both sides of my tial adapter plates were leaking at the wates gate. Make sure you replace those gaskets, and re check the tighness after you drive it a bit. There should also be a sealing ring as the others have mentioned between the adapter and the X-over. good luck!

My tial was leaking on both the outlet and inlet side, due to the adapter plates not fitting on the tial completely. The bolts were too long! Anyways, I ground the bolts down a bit, put some RTV red silicone sealant on the tial, and torqued it down really tight. I haven't had any problems since.. The whole ordeal took me about an hour to take it off, put the sealant on, and put the tial back on.

It sure was nice to get rid of the jet engine WHOOOOOOSHHHH sound.
